Meinl am Graben Meinl Bank

An important carrier of our coffee boy logo is our hot-air balloon Juliet Mike. The Julius Meinl hot-air balloon is 21 metres in height and 17 metres at its "equator - the widest part of the envelope (which is the name that balloonists call the bag that contains the hot-air).The envelope can hold 2970 cubic metres of hot air and was built from more than 800 metres of rip-stop nylon fabric.

In flight, the balloon can ascend at more than 300 metres per minute and fly at altitudes from ground level to more than 10,000 metres, travelling at the speed of the wind. Fuel used by the double burner is liquid propane, which it consumes at the rate of 1 kg (or 2 lt) per minute.

The annual winter hot air balloon meeting took place again this year in St.Johann in the Austrian Alps in Tyrol.

Our MEINL hot air balloon team with pilot Reinhard Koller, took part and competed against balloon teams from all over Europe. The background to the week's competition were the scenic mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps. Meinl hot air balloon ZULU JULIET MIKE was the week's competition winner.
