Meinl in Chicago Julius
Meinl, Vienna, Austria's leading coffee roaster opened its first North American
Coffee House in Chicago's Lakeview in November 2002. The
coffee house situated at the corner of Southport and Addison Avenues on Chicago's
Northside has since become a frequently visited watering hole for Viennese
coffee and pastry aficionados from far and wide. Our knowledgeable "Coffee
Meisters", pastry chefs and a team of pleasant staff cater to customers' needs.
Customers can choose their own tables and coffees are served in ceramic
cups with a glass of water served on a silver platter, typical Vienna style.
There is the regular seating area and a more quiet area for customers to enjoy
their coffee at leisure in conversation with friends or meeting business colleagues.
Those people in a hurry are served at a counter with "coffee to go".
Customers can also buy Meinl coffees and teas in retail packs for brewing
at home or in the office. The tastefully designed interior with its
Austrian built furnishings and fittings is comfortable to sit in and pleasant
to the eye. The coffee house with its outside patio is entirely non- smoking
and wireless internet is provided. Twice a week in the evenings there
is live music, one evening of Classical and one of Jazz. The Meinl Coffee
House in Chicago is a real refuge for those who wish to escape the bustling world
for a while. Meinl roasts its premium quality highland-grown coffees
in Vienna, Austria and ships its coffees via Austrian Airlines fresh to Chicago.
Meinl coffees are less darkly roasted than many other blends, which gives
Meinl coffee that special Viennese taste so much appreciated by coffee connoisseurs.
Julius Meinl has successfully entered the Coffee Service market and now supplies
leading North American Hotels and Restaurants with their coffees, supporting
its customers with Viennese Coffee Service knowledge and experience. Where required,
Meinl supplies and installs coffee brewing and espresso machines and "calibrates"
these to perfection. It is encouraging how Meinl Coffee from Vienna,
as the "new kid on the block", has been received by our North America customers
and we look forward to further expansion in the North American market with confidence
and optimism. Address enquiries to: Steve Farley (customer.service@meinl.com)
